Inspiration to overcome what we deem impossible. Inspiration to better myself at every opportunity. When I was young sports provided me with many basic morals and hope amidst a hard, non-positive environment. Id show up at these specific events forgetting my troubled, abusive world at home and focus on being the absolute best athlete I could be. I would manage my body and my life in order to tune myself to be better at a specific sport. I would like to think that eventually transcended into my desire to be the absolute best person I could be in life on a daily basis. A hard worker. A great friend. The best brother. A reliable confidant. An unbeatable athlete. An exhilarating dancer. An intelligent being. An enjoyable conversationalist.

In case you havent heard, the Pittsburgh Penguins are straight up DOPE.
Unbeaten in the post season, its been a pleasure watching them fly around the ice with the speed, skill, and energy level these young cats (well penguins I guess) exude. Ive watched and played hockey for over 10 years now on and off, but Ive never seen a team so incredibly young blaze the sheets of hard frozen water like they have this post season. The other teams seem like they are in slow motion and despite how physical and aggressive the competition plays, these young birds have a level of skill and finesse that has been left unanswered and very fun to watch.
Exciting times for a city that almost lost its hockey team just a few, short years back followed by acquiring the youngest star in hockey who is now just 20 years old and the #1 player in all of the professional NHL with the statistics to back it up. In 2 years time the Burg went from the Penguins potentially moving to Kansas City to a totally renewed interest in the sport, supporting the team close to the level of their beloved Steelers, with recent playoff tickets selling out in just 10 minutes after going on sale as well as a brand new stadium approved and on the horizon.
Rock On Birds Of Steel.
And Put Me In The Lineup.
