This past weekend I stayed with a fellow mountain biker and coworker which created my first opportunity to visit the beautiful beach town of Santa Cruz about 40 minutes southwest from my place of work in San Jose, Ca.Santa Cruz is a pretty unique place of pacific beaches and high, dense coastal mountains all in one. A quick escape from the speed and concrete of Silicone Valley, you can be at sea level walking

shoeless in the sand on the beach while listening to the crash of the mighty waters of the pacific ocean and the bark of the sea lions, or exploring the lush mountainous terrains of Redwoods by bike or foot.
Preferably by bike.
I was rushed for time as the visit fell in between two days of intense work. But despite timelines, I
managed to take a few, quick pictures to give some illustration to the feel of the beach side to Santa Cruz .The top picture is the ocean perspective of the lighthouse on the beach with the mountains of the coastal town of Monterey in the distance, followed by the view of someone setting sail and taking on the intimidating sea and the legend of Davey Crockett amidst giant tootsie rolls. I also
felt I needed to add the vintage american automobile pic with the backdrop of a palm tree and the cloudless California sky for that true west coast touch. Only in California could a car this classic be on the street daily - rust free.In no time flat it was back to the grind of work which just so happens to be directly across the street from "Ebay Park". Ebay Park is basically a city in itself comprised of buildings and divisions owned and operated by the online auction mega-giant Ebay. A pretty impressive sight considering Ebay is a company who doesnt make a physical product, but instead generates income on items other people own.
If you have ever wondered why their fees and cuts
continuously rise, view the beautiful, large complex of Ebay in the most expensive real estate in the country next to Manhattan, NY.

Next visit of Santa Cruz will definitely result in
some pictures of the incredible mountain biking
which exists there.
